FLATBAR comprises 3 mirrors – square, rectangle and round – that operate as “looking glass portals with hand stitched leather strapping”.

Emmerson’s inspiration for FLATBAR is both simple and complex; working with three single elements; the malleability of brass, the lucidity and precision of glass, and the strength of steel, the collection explores the geometry of the right angle whilst mirroring the chemical basis of life; carbon, silica, copper and zinc.

With his attention drifting away from the sensual sinuous lines that define the Ab Ovo collection and into perpendicular thought, William devoted FLATBAR to the perpendicular properties that dominate modern life.
